Day 1

Our morning flight from Rome was rescheduled to take off at 4 a.m., which was quite unbelievable! We arrived at our cave hotel around 7 a.m., completely exhausted. Fortunately, the hotel staff was kind enough to let the kids play at the pool while we waited to check in.

A Santorini cave hotel is a unique and iconic type of accommodation that takes advantage of the island's volcanic landscape, offer stunning views of the caldera, the Aegean Sea, and the famous Santorini sunsets. These hotels are typically built into the cliffs of the caldera, with rooms carved out of the rock, with modern amenities blending seamlessly into the traditional cave architecture. The interiors often feature smooth, curved walls and vaulted ceilings, creating a cozy, cool, and naturally insulated atmosphere, minimalistic yet luxurious.

Our hotel has private terrace and a plunge pool, perfect for enjoying the serene views and soaking in the atmosphere of the island. You can book the same hotel here.

Strolling through Imerovigli, Santorini, is like stepping into a postcard. As you wander through its narrow, cobblestone streets, you’ll encounter whitewashed houses with blue accents, quaint shops, and intimate cafes tucked away, perfect for enjoying a quiet moment. Imerovigli is quieter and less crowded compared to Oia and Fira, making it an ideal spot for a peaceful walk. The gentle breeze and the stunning views create a relaxing atmosphere as you take in the beauty of the island. The iconic Skaros Rock, a large volcanic formation, can also be seen from here, adding to the natural beauty of the landscape.
