Turkey Day 4

Pamukkale, known as the "Cotton Castle," is a stunning natural wonder in southwestern Turkey, famous for its thermal pools and white mineral-rich terraces. The hot spring water, high in calcium, creates beautiful, flowing pools that have been formed over centuries. To protect these delicate formations, visitors are required to walk barefoot on the terraces, but the ground can be rough and uncomfortable, with sharp, rusty textures that can hurt your feet. Despite this, the warm, therapeutic waters and breathtaking views make the experience worthwhile, offering both relaxation and a unique connection to nature.

After walking through the pools, we took a break at a nearby restaurant. Even though we only ordered hot water, the shop owner generously provided us with a variety of snacks at no extra cost, only charging us for the water. It was truly amazing how, throughout our trip, the Turkish people consistently showed honesty, hard work, and warm hospitality, making every moment memorable. The dishes we saw also looked elegant and delicious, adding to the charm of the experience. There were wild pink flowers blooming beautifully in June, enhancing the natural beauty of Pamukkale with their soft, vibrant shades. After this, we took a night flight to Istanbul.
