Day 4

On our day 4, visiting the Acropolis of Athens was an unforgettable experience! Standing high above the city, the Acropolis is home to some of the most famous ancient landmarks, including the Parthenon, a stunning temple dedicated to the goddess Athena. The views from the top were breathtaking, giving us a panoramic view of Athens and its sprawling landscape.
As we explored the site, we marveled at the Temple of Athena Nike, with its delicate columns, and the Erechtheion, famous for its Caryatids—the statues of women supporting the temple’s porch. Walking through the Propylaea, the grand entrance, felt like stepping back in time, and we couldn’t help but think about the rich history that happened here thousands of years ago. You can book a guided tour here.
Located just a short walk from the Acropolis itself, the Acropolis museum houses a stunning collection of artifacts that were discovered during excavations on the Acropolis hill. The museum is dedicated to showcasing the rich history and cultural significance of the Acropolis site, offering a deeper understanding of its art, architecture, and role in ancient Greek society.

The changing of the guard ceremony in Athens, performed by the Evzones (Presidential Guard), takes place every hour, on the hour, in front of the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Syntagma Square. There's also a more elaborate ceremony every Sunday at 11:00 AM. We walked there from Acropolis Museum.
This was our last stop in Greece. The whole trip was very relaxing, with fewer tours than usual, allowing us to fully enjoy each destination. We had the time to soak in the beauty of the places we visited without feeling rushed, making it a perfect way to end our Greek adventure. The slower pace gave us the opportunity to appreciate the rich history, stunning views, and unique experiences that Greece has to offer.
